H12 Residence

The H12 Residence project envisioned the renovation of an existing home in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, with the primary goal of modernizing both its exterior and interior. This objective was achieved through subtle alterations that minimally impacted the existing structure, embracing and incorporating elements of the original architecture to craft a distinctive composition.

The implementation of an open-plan concept in the dining, living, kitchen, and family areas transformed the space, allowing natural light to permeate throughout. In the more private zones like the home office and bedrooms, minor adjustments were made to enhance circulation, introduce comfort, and create an airier ambiance. Special attention was also given to the exterior spaces, including the balcony, rear patio, and entrance sequence, where the challenges posed by the steep slope of the site were embraced as opportunities to fashion a uniquely inviting experience.
